MONEY.NET REDESIGNS FOR MORE EDUCATION CONTENT

Monday, August 14th, 2000 9:00 AM Eastern Time

Financial Net News

Volume 5, Issue 33

Money.net a financial portal, is redesigning its home page and has doubled its educational content. News articles, more than 35 calculators and an increased amount of personal financing tips have been added, which will correspond directly to each of its five main tabs: brokerage, credit, insurance, planning and billing. It will lessen the amount of content appearing on its home page. The move is an effort to retain traffic from its existing customers so that they interact more after using the educational content.

"We want to give more advice, so that they will be able to act...on our site, said Jillian Kasky, editor in chief at money.net, who added that the change is also to clean up its home page as its space is limited.

Content includes charts and graphs for long term saving, such as how to save for college tuition and tips for picking stocks, how to buy financial products online. "At this time of the year, other portals may slow their aggressiveness, to keep up with the competition, nobody is raking a rest here," said Kasky. The firm has 12 writers who contribute to its content. Money.net gets roughly 175,000 subscribers and 25 million page views per month.
