NY POST Web Site of the Week - Money.net
Monday, November 27th, 2000 9:00 AM Eastern Time
THERE are plenty of Web sites that offer investment help. But there are far fewer sites that help an individual handle all of their personal finance duties - from investing to paying bills, from purchasing insurance to getting credit cards.
The one site that does all that is Money.net, where individuals can get professional financial planning advice as well as set up portfolios and trade stocks.
The site's real-time stock portfolio tracker, called Screamer II, gives users the ability to view prices in fractions and decimals. Using it, you can keep track of more than 100 stocks in seven different, customizable lists.
This is a service previously available only to traders willing to spend thousands of dollars annually. At Money.net, the service is free.
Money.net also has original articles that can't be found anywhere else, giving advice and tips on the best ways to invest your money.
The site already has amassed more than 175,000 subscribers since its launch 13 months ago.
Recognizing that all of us need a little assistance, no matter how experienced we are as investors, the site offers a University of Money, which has information on everything from the basics of investing to sophisticated strategies like shorting and hedging.
